Update-Where is Deputy General Manager Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell
A previous post discussed Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell being noticeably absent from Hartsfield Jackson for over one month. There are many stories floating around about her departure, however no official statement has been released. Reporters are allegedly instructed by Communications Manager Andy Gobeil prior to any press events not to inquire about Deputy General Manger Jaimeka Ferrell and to stick to the subject matter. Her updated website name change (from FlywithJai to JaiFerrell.com) shows that she is distancing herself from her role at Hartsfield Jackson Airport which can be a clear indication that Jaimeka Ferrell is attempting to secure a new role and save face before imminent termination. There will be additional information on the "why" soon. Outside of the City of Atlanta, where can you misuse FMLA while attempting to secure another job? If the termination or corrective action was being initiated prior to FMLA then there is no protection, and the employee can be terminated. April Broaders the HR Director is her sorority sister and is not going to allow that to happen because Jaimeka Ferrell has made sure April has been overly compensated. Her salary ($175,000) rivals that of most Assistant General Managers and she is listed as one of the highest paid city employees. Is this her reward for allegedly doing Jaimeka's dirty work? This sends the wrong message of fraud and abuse when leaders use FMLA in this manner. How long will Mayor Andre Dickens allow the airport to be run like a mom-and-pop shop and not a revenue generating entity? Is Mayor Andre Dicken's allowing Jaimeka Ferrell to have special privileges' and leave on her on terms while abusing FMLA? He is always onsite at Hartsfield Jackson Airport, for press/photo opportunities but has yet to make any adjustments to account for the poor behavior of airport leaders. This would not be happening under the leadership of Kasim Reed. Former Mayor Reed was not insulated by his cabinet when it came to the operations of city entities. He was aware and very hands on with decision making. Would the City of Atlanta be in a position if Kasim Reed was in leadership once again or run by the state? If the latter were to happen there would be a lot less melanin in the leadership team and no more lavish luncheons, birthday parties and offsite events.
You read it here first, Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell is still conducting "coffee & conversations" & "chat and chew" meetings to secure a new job (Similar to the meetings/interviews she was having when she thought Kasim was going to be elected this last term). Jaimeka Ferrell will make a huge announcement and thank the mayor and general manager along with her "mentors" as she announces her new opportunity. It will be a big production as she departs from her made up role with her made up title. Will her going away party be onsite or at the Georgia International Convention Center? How will her "Harvard" tuition be covered and will she be responsible for reimbursing the city once she receives her next "pity position"?
It is important to Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell that it appears she left on her own terms which is far from true.
*There was a Ferrell sighting last week as she boarded a plane to New Orleans for the Falcon's game*
