Assistant General Manager Tyronia Morrison Smith, Esq. is a loyal "Ferrell Follower". She was hired in December 2022, and her city of  Atlanta salary increased from $106,000 to $170,000. Tyronia Salary   Smith had limited work related experience and did not qualify for the Assistant General Manager role, Deputy General Manager Jai Ferrell instantly recognized that Tyronia Smith was a follower and would do whatever Jai Ferrell instructed without question. Tyronia Smith did not waste any time conforming to the shady practices for which Ferrell's followers are known. With Steve Mayers untimely departure, Assistant General Manager Elise Durham who has decades of Marketing and Communications experience and has led communications for former mayor Kesha Lance Bottoms should have been selected to oversee marketing, but of course she would not allegedly allow funds to be misappropriated and spent on lavish birthday parties, lunches, trips and décor. Smith's marketing ignorance is a benefit to Jai Ferrell because she is able to control the marketing narrative without any resistance or questioning. Friends & Family

Tyronia Smith's daughter, Taryn Smith, has been employed by the mayor's summer youth program two years in a row. The program is designed for the community's underprivileged kids, not kids of leaders. Is this ethical? The airport employment does not stop there; her other daughter, Ajee Smith, is a mentee of Deputy General Manager Jan Lennon and works in Jan Lennon's department. Like her mother, she is not qualified for her current job. She is on the non-traditional career path that Jan Lennon has placed her assistant Shermaine Freeman  which means that she will be promoted quickly with little to no skills to support her salary increase.

Travel/Continuing Education

Ferrell Followers are rewarded with not just abnormally high salary increases; they are also allowed to travel internationally. Tyronia Smith was on tour in 2023, accepting "awards" on behalf of the airport from DC to London. She used the London trip as an opportunity to take her husband Reginald Glenn Smith on a romantic getaway.  Is this ethical for an attorney to do this? In her previous role as City Attorney, her travel was limited to going to City Hall. Tyronia Smith is not functioning in a legal capacity, why would airport funds be used to pay for legal continuing education courses? These perks keep Tyronia Smith conspiring with Jai Ferrell on illegal schemes, predetermined RFP bids decisions, bullying, and wrongful terminations even when Tyronia Smith knows they may be illegal or unethical.

Office Décor/Birthday Bash

Tyronia Smith's décor for her office was over $38,000, including flooring, furniture, wallpaper, multiple televisions, and custom artwork (confirmed by open records request). Being a Ferrell Follower is beneficial because she sat in a cubicle and shared an office prior to this. Tyronia's lavish Mexican-themed birthday party was the talk of the airport October 4, 2023. There were piñatas, beautiful décor, a DJ, SEVERAL cakes, and catered food from The A Bar & grill (Formally Atlanta Chophouse), all covered by the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The total cost for her birthday party was allegedly over $5,000. Is this ethical? Was this considered fund diversion? Should an attorney be approving frivolous purchases that benefit themselves? The food and décor invoices were processed by marketing assistant Monica M. Pope. Monica Pope LinkedIn  Why would Monica Pope be processing invoices for Tyronia Smith/s birthday party that Jaimeka Ferrell approved?  Monica M. Pope, what other illegal and unauthorized purchases have you processed? For the education of the readers Monica Pope currently reports to Jaimeka Ferrell.


Toxic Work Environment

Tyronia Smith is very aware of the bullying, illegal vendor selections, improper hiring practices, diversion of funds, and abuse of authority because she is PARTICIPATING. She thrives in creating mayhem and mess. She is rarely in the office and has limited her days to twice a week. Her actions could be deemed unethical by the Georgia Bar Association.  She continues to mindlessly follow Ferrell because she is finally making the salary she could not obtain as an attorney after trying for years in the public and private sector. 


Lt Governor Burt Jones should include an airport takeover on the legislative agenda again!

There is a buzz around Hartsfield Jackson Airport regarding the whereabouts of Deputy General Manager Jaimeka "Jai Ferrell".  She has not been seen since December 8 when she hosted an offsite Christmas party for her entire team paid for by the City of Atlanta.   Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell A previous post discussed Jaimeka "Jai" Ferrell being noticeably absent from Hartsfield Jackson for over one month. There are many stories floating around about her departure, however no official statement has been released. Reporters are allegedly instructed by Communications Manager Andy Gobeil prior to any press events not to inquire about Deputy General Manger Jaimeka Ferrell and to stick to the subject matter. Her updated website name change (from FlywithJai to JaiFerrell.com ) shows that she is distancing herself from her role at Hartsfield Jackson Airport which can be a clear indication that Jaimeka Ferrell is attempting to secure a new role and save face before imminent termination. Atlanta HR Commissioner Tarlesha Smith Placed on Administrative Leave

The City of Atlanta's HR Commissioner Tarlesha Smith has been placed on administrative leave by Mayor Andre Dickens, effective immediately. Deputy Chief Commissioner Jason Ingram is leading the HR department during her absence. This announcement from Chief Operating Officer Lisa Benjamin (Gordon) comes at the heels of an explosive City Council meeting discussing her bullying and failure to provide funds to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport's Maintenance Employees.  This was the second time since March the employees had voiced their concerns over unfair treatment, sexual harassment, and compensation.  Airport Employees Attend City Council Meeting March   It is alleged Commissioner Smith had a pattern of meeting with maintenance employees the day before city council meetings and urging them not to attend.
